Shot officer prompts new calls for more police

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A wave of recent shootings has reignited a debate about how to best protect Anchorage residents and the police officers who patrol the streets. A vocal group of lawmakers says the city needs more resources — but those won’t come cheap.
